CQtober 2024 - Seam 15, Maidenhair Stitch

 #CQtober2024

Maidenhair stitch is a variety of feather stitch, so you know it's one of my favorites!  I've used this one on a number of projects.
I was undecided about what color to stitch the main seam.  At first, I was going to use green (my favorite!).  But as I started stitching, I realized it wasn't the right color.  So I switched to the burgundy thread!  It was perfect for this seam!  The contrast of color made the stitching so much more visible!

Then I used the green to stitch two lazy daisies on the lower branch.  And a variegated orange to stitch a cluster of three French knots on the inside branch.  I love the way it turned out!

It's a simple and yet elegant seam!

A huge thank you to Valdani Threads for the lovely threads they gave me, that I'm using for this project!  I love their variations and that they have such a variety of colors in their size 12 range, which is my favorite size perle cotton to stitch with!

Happy Stitching!
