CQtober or is it CQvember now? Seam 17, Combo Herringbone and Cretan Stitch
#CQtober2024
I got a little behind on both videos and blogposts, and am doing my best to get caught up! I've had the opportunity to work quite a lot the past couple of weeks, which I'm deeply grateful for! But it doesn't mean that I don't have time for editing and posting!
I accomplished that by stitching a large herringbone, and then a smaller shallow cretan stitch over it. Adding the knotted lazy daisies instead of straight stitches also helped!
The colors of this seam were a bit brighter as well, and that helped bring the entire piece into balance as some of the seams have been a bit duller lately.
I stitched this seam at the end of October, when the leaves on the tree were still golden. Here, they are kissed by the sunrise giving them an amazing orange glow! We really have had a lovely autumn in Colorado this year. Northern Colorado could use some moisture though. While Denver and south got an enormous amount of snow, we only got a couple of inches, which was gone quickly. Now I need to get all those leaves picked up off the ground!
Happy stitching!
