Autumn Pillow Project aka CQtober 2024 - Seam 18, Boxed Herringbone Stitch
#CQtober2024
Boxed Herringbone is a stitch that I've only done a couple of times. And only once in a continuous manner like this. How hard can it be?
Well, watch the video to find out! Here's a link to it.
I love the look of it. A little more geometric, but with lots of room for embellishment. But by the time I finished with this one, I was glad to have it done! Not my best stitching!
I definitely struggled with this one and frogged my stitches a number of times before I got a result I was happy with. I think a good part of the difficulty came from that black velveteen. The stitches just sank into it and I stitched either to small or too large consistently throughout this one. By the time I added the last French knots, I was D O N E!
But it all worked out, and it's definitely a stitch that I want to revisit again on friendlier fabrics.
Not every stitch comes out perfect, and this one is a perfect example of that for me. There is always more to learn!
What has your most recent stitching challenge been?
Happy Stitching!
