Joy ~ the 3rd Sunday in Advent

Joy ~ in progress, originally uploaded by ivoryblushroses.

"And the angel said to them, "Be not araid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2: 10, 11

Joy to the World!

Joy to the world! the Lord is come:
Let Earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing.

Joy to the world! the Saviour reigns:
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of his love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders of His love.
from Psalm 98 and Isaac Watts

To have joy! To celebrate! Excitement! Delight! It's contagious! When something gives us joy, we want to share it with the world! For to us, on this day! A Savior is born! This is not something to keep silent about! Today, we light the third candle, the candle of Joy!

While the stitching is not complete yet on "Joy", it will be soon and I'll be certain to update the picture of it! In the meantime, join me in celebrating the Joy of Christ's coming by leaving a comment on this post through midnight Friday Dec 19, 2008 to be entered into a drawing for the (completed!) crazy quilted piece shown above. The recipient will be drawn and announced on Saturday!
